Challenge 2025 Winners: Where Are They Now?
The Challenge 2025 program finals saw ten student entrepreneur teams from five Congolese universities compete. Six months later, the three winning teams have made considerable progress in bringing their projects to life.
The winning team, EcoKin, launched a platform for collecting and recycling plastic waste in Kinshasa. Their mobile app connects households with collectors and has already enabled the recycling of several tons of plastic since its January 2026 launch.
AgriTech Congo, the runner-up, developed a smart irrigation system for peri-urban market gardeners. The prototype, tested in the N'sele commune, reduced water consumption by thirty percent while increasing agricultural yields.
The third-place team, SantePlus, is working on a telemedicine application adapted for rural areas of the DRC. Their solution allows remote patients to consult doctors via video call and receive prescriptions digitally.
